Dear Sir/Madam, I am applying for the Marine Engineer position . I have a bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering and my studies centered on mechanical engineering. I also took courses in training saftey, offshore structures. To gain a better understanding of this position and everything it entails, I completed an internship where I worked side by side with professional engineers.  I gained experience in the operation of ships of all sizes and I have extensive knowledge of the steering, propulsion and other vessel systems. I have the knowledge and training needed to oversee test that help to determine if the systems are functioning correctly and to make sure they comply with all rules, regulations and standards. When there is a problem, I have the skills to make repairs to all systems, equipment and structures to make corrections where needed. I have the ability to analyze data, modify and upgrade engine designs along with the equipment used on the engines and the vessels. I can provide estimates for new projects or for repair jobs and I have the ability to keep excellent records of all work performed.  I have excellent problem solving and time management skills, lots of patience and the ability to work and make good decisions independently.
